Yesterday, M Group Services Water Division was delighted to celebrate its next generation of highly skilled, forward thinking and technically minded colleagues to meet the Senior Leaders to discuss their career.

The day, hosted at M Group Services’ Head Office, aimed to give colleagues from across the Water Division’s operating businesses an opportunity to meet each other, as well as the chance to hear from senior leaders from across the Division, and also M Group Services, on how they have shaped their career to where they are now.

The day started with an inspiring introduction from Iain Sutherland, Managing Director- Water Division, who gave an insight to what his role is, what keeps him awake at night, and how he sees the future generation playing a significant part in growing our business and achieving our strategic business plans.

The discussions on the day led to some thought-provoking topics from our colleagues, not only about our business, but also the industry in which we work. Our colleagues were able to find out more about how careers can develop, hearing from some of our team about their career journeys with us, from navigating through a structured programme, to project experience, a combination of the two and how each of these pathways has shaped their development and career.

In the afternoon, attendees were given the opportunity to ask anything to the senior leadership panel, including Andrew Findlay, Chief Executive Officer at M Group Services and the Water Divisional Board leadership Team.

We’re proud to have a fantastic cohort to help realise their potential and look forward to seeing how they enhance our operations and support the development of our Division.

Speaking on the day, Gavin Craig, Thames Water Capital Delivery, Graduate Civil Engineer, said: “The day met all our expectations and to be given the opportunity to hear honest and frank advice from the M Group Services’ Executive Board and Water Divisional Board was really insightful and encouraging how we can all develop our career here.”

Maria Murray, HR Director- Water Division, said: “Our future generation will be pivotal in how we succeed and where we want to be as a business. All of us have a role to play and we are committed in nurturing our workforce. Yesterday was great to show that we all continue to learn in our roles, regardless of what level you operate in.

Thank you to all our colleagues who took part in the inspiring day.
