Huge congratulations to ID Systems and I&C, both part of M Group Services’ Water Division, for being shortlisted in the 2023 Offsite Awards!

The awards recognise the innovative design and technology that goes into delivering offsite projects, covering every aspect of the building process. Offsite builds have many environmental, social and governance (ESG) benefits – from condensed construction timescales to reducing waste, energy consumption and traffic to and from site.

ID Systems (IDS) has been shortlisted for ‘Best use of MEP and POD Technology’ for its innovative IXOM pilot plant project. The project involved the design, manufacture, factory acceptance testing of an off-site built booster set to provide water mains network pressure to a new housing development without impacting existing customers.

The self-contained pod design is repeatable and meets industry specifications, providing consistency in quality. The reduced time needed to construct the pod on site also minimises health and safety risks associated with the installation.

I&C Process Solutions has been shortlisted for a ‘Product Innovation’ award after spotting an opportunity in the marketplace for recycled kiosks that can be deployed across the utility sector. Each waterproof kiosk can house equipment and is built from Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a recyclable polyester resin-based plastic material found in plastic bottles. The solution extends the lifetime of the material, diverting plastic from landfill.

Stewart Keough, Strategy Director at IDS, said: “Both nominations are great examples of the innovative solutions we are delivering on behalf of our clients.

“M Group Services has committed to halving its carbon emissions by 2030 and become net-zero by 2050. With our 2030 target fast approaching, we are getting our business in line with the upcoming requirements by being more innovative and looking at solutions around efficient technologies and the circular economy. We are also using our position as the UK’s leading essential Infrastructure service provider to help our clients reduce their carbon footprint and make a positive environmental impact across the UK infrastructure market more generally.”

Winners will be announced during a special awards event in Coventry on 19 September 2023.
