Electrical Engineer

Job Description

The role will support Project Managers and Project Technical Leads by providing technical expertise. The successful candidate will be working as part of the design team developing technical solutions to water and wastewater treatment facilities and infrastructure.

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects primarily in the water & waste water, power distribution and petrochemical industries.
  • Initially supporting Engineers and Project Managers whilst learning the required techniques and knowledge used to complete design and project engineering functions.
  • Progressively and increasingly become involved in, and be responsible for, elements of design and project delivery.
  • Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external design review and progress meetings.
  • Participate in design co-ordination with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
  • Produce design calculations.
  • Produce electrical design documentation.
  • Review of specifications and designs against industry standards and specifications
  • Procurement of electrical equipment and support for subcontract procurement based on detailed specifications
  • Ensure that site installation works and quality match both design and appropriate industry standards.
  • Record and Review as-built information
  • Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Solutions to water and wastewater treatment facilities and infrastructure.

Project Engineer

We are looking to add a experienced Project Managers/engineers to work within our specialised teams .Working within a project team responsible for co-ordinating all electrical, mechanical, civil and process engineering activities of company resources, vendors and sub-contractors in the execution of projects, ensuring that contractual obligations are satisfied efficiently and effectively. Applicants should have an HNC or above in Electrical Engineering with previous experience in a similar type role, preferably in an engineering related environment.

All candidates must have a background in engineering and if this is within the water industry it would be a distinct advantage, although not essential.

Planner

Job Description

 Due to our continued expansion we are seeking to recruit Planners to join our rapidly growing teams in our Grangemouth & Glasgow offices.

  • Create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and plans
  • Liaising with Managers and Engineers to discuss the progress of the project and address any issues that arise
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to organize the phases of the construction development
  • Keep the Client Team up to date on progress to present to the Client
  • Present information for internal meetings on the project
  • Problem solving
  • Produce tender plans to support bids

Control & Automation Engineer

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with an eye for detail and excellent communication skills, looking to build a career within our rapidly growing Control & Automation department and be ready to work on a wide range of projects for our customers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop solutions using a variety of applications, standards and technologies to meet our customer commitments
  • Identify and correct technical issues in solutions through formal test practices
  • Create, improve and implement standards and processes
  • Provide customer/internal technical support
  • Document solutions to company and customer standards
  • Provide on-site installation, commissioning, start-up services and application training for our solutions
  • Basic project management, define and monitor project scope and objectives
  • Delivery of project milestones aligned with customer requirements, schedule and quality expectations

Relevant Experience:

  • As an experienced engineer you will be able to demonstrate your passion and commitment to a career in an engineering environment, showing an aptitude for the design and development of industrial control and monitoring systems using a range of hardware and software products
  • Project experience using PLCs, HMI, SCADA, Historian, MES and similar technologies is essential
  • Further to this you will have significant experience using Siemens Step 7, WinCC and TIA portal software, this is an essential requirement for this role
  • Experience using SCADA applications such as WinCC V7.X, Wonderware and FactoryTalk will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server) and common high-level programming languages (such as C#, VB.NET, VB, etc.) would be advantageous
  • Project experience with VSD’s and intelligent motor starters is essential
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of control system hardware and software systems and their interaction with a wider, networked world is essential
  • Demonstrable understanding of electrical/control systems designs, schematics and other project related drawings is essential
  • Knowledge of relevant IEC standards such as BS EN 61131 and 61508 is essential
  • Knowledge and appreciation of industrial processes, and in particular water industry processes would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Electrical Switchgear and Controlgear assemblies and relevant IEC standards such as BS EN 61439 would be advantageous

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BSc, BEng. Electronic/Computer/Control Engineering, or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 5 years working with SCADA and PLC systems
  • Knowledge of all commonly used PLC programming languages
  • Knowledge of industrial control circuits.
  • Knowledge of networking and communication technologies

Location:

This role is primarily office based, with an element of travel to customer sites, therefore candidates should live within a reasonable commutable distance of Westfield, Central Scotland and hold a full driving licence.

Telemetry Engineer

Job Description

Throughout the role of Telemetry Engineer you will learn how to carry out the installation and maintenance of telemetry systems. This will be achieved by the delivery of external and internal training programmer and by building experience whilst working alongside our existing Telemetry Engineers at our office base as well as on client’s sites throughout Scotland.

  • Installation of Telemetry systems and associated equipment.
  • Configuration of Telemetry outstations to clients exacting requirements including RTU code, Modbus implementation and radio communication links.
  • Compilation of mimics and signal configuration listings for import to Client’s Top End system.
  • Managing the Client approvals process for Telemetry mimics and signal configuration listings.
  • RTU commissioning and signal end to end testing.
  • Preparation of test records and RTU O&M documentation
  • Learn how to carry out the installation and maintenance of telemetry systems, achieved by the delivery of external and internal training programmes and by building experience whilst working alongside our experienced senior Telemetry Engineers.
  • Responsible for completing comprehensive site specific Telemetry signal workbooks, Telemetry mimic compilation and building RTU code/configuration files.
  • Working from detailed client Telemetry design documentation or, in some instances, developing Telemetry solutions from outline requirements and preparing Telemetry design packages that adhere to Clients established processes and systems of work.
  • Based in the office as well as on Client’s sites throughout Scotland.

Job Description

  • Delivery of Mechanical Engineering designs to agreed budgets and timescales
  • Production, checking and reviewing of technical specifications and schedules
  • Production of project deliverables in accordance with the requirements laid down by                         the client
  • Produce mechanical specifications and deliverables for schemes in accordance with current legislation
  • Liaise with Projects, Proposals and other internal clients and deal efficiently and effectively with any technical queries

Job Description

 You will report directly to the Estimating Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Co-ordinating with other Teams/Disciplines as part of the Project Cost/ Scope Development phase
  • Developing the scope of works for the project (Bill of Quantities) through involvement with the wider Bid Team
  • Sending out enquiries to the Supply Chain
  • Developing Target Costs
  • Updating Target Cost to Estimate at subsequent Capex stages
  • Ensuring that Actual Cost data is captured from Project Team and fed back at Project Completion
  • Implementing continual improvement and increased efficiencies in our data and processes year on year Key Attributes

Instrumentation Engineer

Job Description

 A proven instrumentation  background, a full UK driving license and  the experience to test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect all flow, monitoring and analytical  instruments as used within the Water industry will be required.
